Below are just a handful of the Professional and Organizational Development custom courses that Knowledge Source Inc. has developed for our clients. Please contact Dr. Richard Mansfield to discuss specific content for these classes and how KSI may create a training program that addresses your organization’s goals and desired outcomes. Improving Corporate Morale Dr. Richard Mansfield has developed a model (Mansfield Morale Model) to help organizations examine specific areas affecting morale. Much more than a one or two-day program, “Improving Corporate Morale” is a comprehensive model that begins with interviews of a random sample of employees and managers. Results of these interviews are synthesized and shared with top management, and consulting/planning and training is provided regarding how issues appearing to have a negative impact on morale might be addressed. Managing and Valuing Diversity This is a one-day seminar designed to enable participants to understand the broad range of differences encountered in today’s workplace. The primary goal will be to promote mutual respect through gaining insights regarding the impact of working with people from different cultures, ethnicities, religions, generations, as well as those who are fundamentally different in the areas of values and personalities. Developing Management Potential Many people find themselves thrust into leadership roles because they were the person most readily available or more often because they possess technical expertise in a certain area. Unfortunately, this does not mean that they have the requisite skills to lead, manage, or supervise others effectively. This course addresses the fundamentals necessary to being successful in a management role. Concepts covered include employee motivation, communication skills, including giving clear instructions and being an active listener, establishing a climate conducive to productivity, managing conflicts and administering discipline. Teambuilding This one-day session can be tailored to bring together intact workgroups to focus on real-world issues in an effort to enhance team effectiveness. It can also be designed to have participants from different workgroups or organizations improve individual skills as team members and promote more effective team functioning in their respective organizations. Leading in the 21st Century Change has become virtually the only constant in today’s organizations. This seminar helps participants identify societal and workplace changes that are impacting organizations and develop plans for taking a proactive rather than a reactive approach so that they can use change as an asset rather than allowing it to be a liability. A key focus of the session will be upon learning to adapt to the fact that we now have four generations in the workplace and that this dictates the need for change in a myriad of ways that we lead our organizations. Delegating for Results Delegating has been defined simply as "getting work done through others." In today's competitive economy, it is essential that managers extend themselves through their subordinates. Too many of us still adhere to the old axiom, "if you want it done right, do it yourself." It is becoming increasingly important that those in supervisory and management positions improve their skills and abilities to accomplish organizational goals through the efforts of subordinates. Strategic Planning This is a session provided to organizations seeking assistance in mapping a plan for the future. Typically, top leadership will be involved in reaching consensus regarding the organization’s vision, mission, goals, objectives, and strategies for reaching desired outcomes. This program can be modified and tailored to meet the needs of specific organizations.
